Daily Word from Dave (cont.)

Every day I get inspirational messages from my Dad offering me advice and wisdom.  One day I hope to put together a book of all of the wonderful things he says.  I wish I would have saved them sooner but it's better late than never!

January 22nd:
"Our need to try and control everything is right up in the top major disfunctions facing everyone.  Seeking control has many negative components and is a major contributor to unrest in relationships.  To seek control is to play God.  The solution is simple let go every second and let God."

"Stress, anxiety, negative thoughts and bad feelings are all the result of our desire to control. To let go and let God, to acceptt life on life's terms, to surrender to win are the best solutions to our living problems."

January 23rd:
"A very humbling prayer that seeks Gods will ONLY and not our own wil and gives all power and praise to Him begs and I mean begs God to open ALL of our eyes, our ears, or hearts to the Truth and then be patient and wait on the Lord."

January 24th:
"Lasting consistent serenity and being okay or having peace, joy and contentment that is NOT contingent on the circumstances of life happenings must come from a change in our soul from God's grace and not from our work or the imaginations of our heart.  We must be patient and wait on the Lord."

"Unless we unconditionally take complete responsibility for how we think, feel, and behave and pay attention to this first we will not be able to move forward the way we want or should."

January 25th:
"Disappointments, problems, struggles, and challenges are normal and to be expected.  It's during these times that maybe the best we can do is to get in touch with the quietness of our soul and be still.  We want to reduce the negative response and collateral damage that often go with challenging experiences."

January 26th:
"To have a good attitude and to be positive requires an ongoing commitment to stay focused on what is good and right.  God's goodness is the target of our focus.  Keep it simple."

January 27th:
"Any secret prevents us from the full benefits of experiencing peace, joy, and contentment of the present.  God knows your heart and wants us all to come clean and strive to be secret clean.  Admitting our shortcomings to God on the spot from our heart with conviction is the way to go."
